Meet Our Founder

Gene Shapiro is an art historian and auctioneer who earned his BA in art history from the University of Pennsylvania, after studying at UC Berkeley and Christie’s Education. He began his career in the Contemporary Art department at Sotheby’s New York before becoming a private art dealer. Shapiro lectures widely on the art market and has appeared as a commentator and specialist on numerous programs, including Antiques Roadshow.
